In each issue of the newsletter we focus upon a small selection of recent threads selected because they deal with common issues, or cover vogue or particularly interesting points.
1) "I have recently been tasked with compiling an "Infrastructure Strategy". Where do I start? What should this Infrastructure Strategy consist of?" Frank Guerino and Douglas Anderson tackle this question in the following ITIL Community thread: http://www.itilcommunity.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1838 2) "Is ITIL only for production systems?" This question initiated a significant debate, again in an ITIL Community thread: http://www.itilcommunity.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=1815 3) "If anyone here has already created, implemented, and successfully operating a CMDB I would appreciate it if you could provide me a sample database structure. What are the CI's included? What are the fields each CI record must contain?" This prompted a number of detailed and useful responses in Yahoo's ITIL group: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/ITIL-Service/message/660 |
